Local Store Sponsors Event To Benefit Yorktown Music Program Student musicians from Yorktown High School and local retailer Barnes & Noble located at 2800 Clarendon Blvd. in Clarendon, will jointly host three days of musical entertainment December 1st through December 3rd to benefit the YHS music department. Musical groups representing the Yorktown band, orchestra and choral departments will perform each day from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the stores' second level. Performances will feature a variety of musical formats including solos, quartets and ensembles. A special appearance of the Virginia Big Band is scheduled for December 3rd. The Yorktown music program will receive a percentage of sales on purchases made using a special voucher when presented at the time of purchase. Vouchers can be used during regular store hours at any Barnes & Noble location throughout the DC Metro area. Funds raised through this event will be used to defray expenses for new instruments and equipment, sheet music and competition performance fees.
