Congratulations to the Yorktown Marching Band on another outstanding weekend. The YMB traveled to Lynchburg to compete in the Virginia Marching Band Cooperative State Championships. Yorktown came in 4th place in Group 3 and advanced to the Commonwealth Cup Championship for the first time in school history! The band had their best run of the show so far this season at finals and placed 13th in the state.
You can still see the marching band show when the band performs at the APS Marching Band Showcase on Tuesday, the home football game on Thursday, and the VMBC Freedom Showcase on Saturday. 

YMB This Week:
This is the last week of the season for the YMB, and it is another busy one. We hope you can join us on Tuesday to see all three APS high school marching bands perform their shows. The Showcase starts at 7 at Wakefield and the YMB performs at 7:10. Parking can be a challenge, so be early if you can. The Wakefield band will be selling shout-outs this year. $10 per message. Submit your messages here and surprise your student!
Our final rehearsal is Wednesday, and this will be our traditional Halloween rehearsal with section costumes, the costume walk, and staff Olympics. Thursday night is our last home game and senior night vs. W-L.

  • November 10: YMB Banquet
  • November 12: Chamber Concert (Wind Ensemble & Percussion Ensemble)
