Yorktown High School Bands

The Percussion ensemble is a full year, 1-credit course for students who are enrolled as percussionists in the Symphonic or Concert Band. These students meet separately from the winds during the day, and in addition to preparing their music for the band, prepare percussion ensemble literature and study the various percussion instruments. This ensemble performs on the Winter and Spring concerts, and may also participate in the annual Department Spring Trip. The repertoire is chosen from transcriptions and challenging original literature for percussion ensemble.
