There is so much going on this week, especially tomorrow, that a mid-week update/reminder email seemed necessary!

Tomorrow – Marching Band Props Assistance for Stadium Practice
Props will be used during rehearsal tomorrow evening.  Rehearsals are already long, and the students have other equipment and clean-up responsibilities, so it would be great if you could spare 30 minutes of your time before or after rehearsal to help construct and move the props to and from the field.  No experience necessary!  Please sign up here if you can help.

For any volunteers signed up to help with props/equipment at any of the five remaining performances, tomorrow would be a great opportunity to come check out how the props move and operate, especially when it comes to constructing/deconstructing them for each performance.

Tomorrow (and through Oct 25th) – Concert Attire Fittings
We need help fitting the concert and wind ensemble students for their concert attire (dresses and tuxedos).  No experience necessary!  Please sign up here to help.

Answer to FAQ:  Yes, all of the concert attire is cleaned before it is given to students, so you do not need to take it to the cleaners.  They will be cleaned again at the end of the concert season.  Any cleaning between performances will be at the expense of the individual family.

If your student’s attire doesn’t need alterations, it will come home the same day.  Attire needing alterations will be taken to Millie’s, and students will be notified when the attire is ready to take home.  Alterations are charged to the school, not to families.

Reminder:  Students choosing the dress option must provide their own black shoes.  Dresses will fall at the ankle, so keep that in mind when choosing footwear.  Students choosing the tuxedo option must provide their own black shoes, long black socks, black bowtie, and white tuxedo shirt.

Tomorrow – Restaurant Fundraiser at Lebanese Taverna
And because there’s so much going on, how about taking the day off from cooking?  Let Lebanese Taverna provide delicious food for you!  At the Westover and Market locations, Lebanese Taverna will donate 20% of the bill to the Yorktown Band.  The offer is valid throughout the day with online food, online gift card purchase, catering, and take-out orders.  It is not applied on Door Dash ordering.  Please use this flyer when placing your order, and please share it with friends, family, and neighbors through email and social media!

Have a great week!
