Dear band families,
Join us on Tuesday night at 7pm for a brainstorming session at Westover Beer Garden. The focus for this session will be on volunteer recruitment strategies primarily for continuity as we say goodbye to our senior parents. Our secondary focus will be on alumni relations strategies. Please come prepared to contribute and to enjoy the company of your fellow band parents in a social, relaxed setting.
Concert Attire Update
Dresses and tuxedos for the concert season are starting to be sent home (woohoo!). We are trying something different this year: if your student’s attire needs alterations, we’re taking them to Millie’s so you don’t have to! (Crazy, right?) That achieves a few things: 1) Alterations will be made and on time for the first concert; 2) Parents don’t have to find time to take the garments to Millie’s and remember a bunch of instructions!
Once alterations are made, the items will be returned to the school and the appropriate student’s garment bag. We’ll let the students know when their items are ready to be taken home.
Some important notes:
Please do not remove any tags from the garments; we need the tags for sizes and inventory numbers. The cost of the dress/tux is included in the Band Program cost. This fee covers the dry cleaning and maintenance of the concert attire, in addition to replacement of old attire when necessary. Attire that is not in good condition (beyond normal wear and tear) when returned at the end of the year will result in additional fees based on the cost of repair or replacement.
Tuxedo concert attire requires a tux shirt and bow tie which are not supplied by the band. Students wearing tuxes must purchase their own tux shirts and bow ties.
If your student is unhappy with the concert attire they were assigned, please contact us right away to try to address the issue. Please reach out to Amber Miller or Suzanne Plimpton with any questions regarding concert attire.
