Dear band families,

Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word on our Lebanese Taverna gift card fundraiser. Those funds will go towards the general booster budget supporting new instruments, expert clinician visits, travel costs, financial aid and more. Speaking of which, we will be holding our final booster meeting of 2023 on TUESDAY at 7pm in Patriot Hall. This special meeting will include a mid-year update on finances and a special focus on the upcoming practice-a-thon and spring trip to Boston. Join us on Tuesday to plan and prepare and then sit back and enjoy the concert Thursday.

Tuesday at 7pm: Full Band Booster/Parent Meeting, Patriot Hall, Yorktown High School

We’ll start with a review and mid-year check-in and then touch on the upcoming volunteer needs for the practice-a-thon. Then we’ll transition into a Spring Trip presentation and Q&A session. Mr. Witkowski will be available post-rehearsal to answer additional questions. Students are welcome to join post-rehearsal as well (but not required). Separate student-focussed sessions will be provided at school as we get closer to the trip.

Thursday at 7pm and 8pm: Combined YHS Band and Orchestral Concert Program

Thanks to everyone who has signed up to contribute for the concessions at the concert. We are still in need of a few volunteers before and after to assist with setup and cleanup. Sign up here. Per Mr. Witkowskit’s update, concert and jazz band members should report at 6pm for a 7pm concert start. Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra members should report at 7pm for an 8pm concert start.

We’ll see you on Tuesday,

Lisa Backer and Daniel Test
Yorktown Band Booster co-Presidents

P.S. We’re still looking for a practice-a-thon co-coordinator. Talk to Lisa Backer after the booster meeting to find out more!
