Hello Yorktown Band Students and Families,

I have a few items I wanted to get to you before my next update.

  1. Schedule change
    1. As mentioned Thursday night, I am making an adjustment to our plan for Thursday of next week. Instead of a “rolling rehearsal,” we will have full ensemble rehearsal from 5:30 – 8 p.m. on Field 2. This is the same amount of rehearsal time for students (2.5 hours), but will better suit our goals in preparation for Friday’s game and our first competition.
  2. Assignments: there are three assignments that will be due next week. These can be found on Canvas. Students will be able to work on these in class on Monday and Tuesday.
    1. Music Checks
      1. Record yourself playing (video) Part 3 from memory up to rehearsal letter Q. Due by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
      2. Record yourself playing (video) Part 2 from memory. Due by 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
    2. Video review and reflection. Due by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
      1. Must be logged in with APS Google account.

The students are doing very well, and we continue to show high potential. These items will help prepare us for an important week.
