Dear band families,
We’re headed into the final stretch! I hope all of the students who attended had a fantastic time in Boston. We were treated to an inspiring clinic, a beautiful symphony performance, lots of history, fantastic weather, and a surprise Red Sox game at the historic Fenway Park! Here at home we have our 2024-2025 Marching Band Kick-Off meeting next Thursday followed by our spring concerts and our final restaurant night! Hope you can join us!

2024-2025 Marching Band Kick-Off Night
Join us at Yorktown next Thursday for the kick-off to the 2024-2025 Marching Band season! We’ll find out details of the upcoming marching band show, band booster changes, band camp FAQs and more. Attendance is encouraged for all students and their families who will be participating in the marching band program next year. Note that this will replace our May booster meeting.
Spring Fever
We’re proud to present the YHS Bands Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 21. The concert is entitled “Spring Fever” and will feature the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and United Sound. A flier is attached – please share! Keep your eyes on your inbox for a refreshments sign-up so we can all enjoy the music with treats!
Jazz on the Lawn
Following up on the spring concert will be our annual Jazz on the Lawn event on Thursday, May 23. Join us in front of the school in the amphitheater for some jazz outdoors by our own YHS Big Band! This informal event is fun for families and the community.
Hold the Date: Restaurant Night
Our final restaurant night of the year is our Lebanese Taverna extravaganza. The Lebanese Taverna family has been part of the Yorktown community for generations and we’re thrilled to partner with them for our final event. They will generously donate 20% of sales from the Taverna Market, Westover Lebanese Taverna, and online gift card sales ALL DAY on May 29. More details to come.
