Dear band families,

It’s an exciting time around the band hallway! There’s the APS Jazz Showcase tonight at Washington & Liberty AND a marching band chaperone interest meeting (zoom). Come to this no-commitment meeting to find out about Band Camp this August in Mercersburg, PA. Plus, we met with students yesterday who are attending the Boston trip and shared our wicked awesome T-Shirt design (thanks Najeeb Ahmed!) and some much anticipated details. Of course, best of luck to all of our students competing at Solo & Ensemble this weekend in Herndon!

Coming Up:

  • Apr 17: APS Jazz Showcase, Washington & Liberty HS, 6:30 PM
  • Apr 17: Marching Band Chaperone Interest Meeting, Zoom
  • Apr 20: Solo & Ensemble Festival, Rachel Carson Middle School, Herndon
  • Apr 23: Special Boston Band Rehearsal
  • Apr 24: Restaurant Night: 4–8pm The Simple Greek, Wilson, Blvd
  • Apr 25-28: YHS Bands Wicked Awesome Boston Trip

Marching Band Chaperone Interest Meeting, April 17

Calling all marching band parents!  Interested in learning more about serving as a chaperone for this summer’s marching band camp, August 4-9?  Find answers to your questions like 1) Can I still get work done at camp (totally); 2) Do I have to commit to the whole week (no); 3) Is it worth it? (absolutely) and more!

Please share this with any rising potential YHS band families as well!

Join us on Zoom, Wednesday, April 17, 7:30 pm. If you cannot attend this meeting but want to learn more, please contact Susie Wallin. Click here to join the meeting; password = 147666

April Restaurant Fundraiser

If your family is like ours, we’ll be getting everything together at the last minute for the Boston trip. That means no time to cook on April 24 – but we’ve got you. Head on over to The Simple Greek on Wilson Blvd from 4-8 for some healthy bowls or wraps, a family meal package, some Spanakopita, and maybe even a cookie or baklava to top it off. Attached is a graphic that you can share on social media to get the word out to the community!
